Payment Plan The seminary offers returning full-time students who are in good financial standing the option of paying tuition obligations over the length of a semester. The student may defer semester tuition through four monthly installments. The first installment is due at registration. Institutional Fees may not be deferred and must be paid at the time of registration. Applications may be obtained from the campus Business Office and must be submitted two weeks prior to the beginning of classes. First semester students are ineligible for the semester Payment Plan. Deferred payments are not available for summer and J-Term tuition. All deferred payment agreements carry a $50 processing fee.
Secular Employment (NCC) Because Marin County's economy continues to boom, part-time and full-time employment is readily available. The most common part-time positions include clerical and office work, retail, landscaping and yard work, house cleaning, childcare, and personal care. Although many full-time positions are clerical or secretarial positions, there are also many professional opportunities such as teaching, accounting, computer programming, etc. Dozens of Northern California employment opportunities are posted on our seminary online Job Board.
Church/Ministry Employment (NCC) Many churches in the Bay area depend on seminary students for staff and ministry leadership. Openings for part-time ministry abound, especially in the areas of youth ministry and worship leadership. Other opportunities exist for ethnic ministry, particularly with Chinese and Korean congregations. Most churches assist with ministry expenses and provide a monthly stipend. A few churches are able to provide an ample salary for both school and living expenses. Full-time positions may come available, especially in the pastoral ministry, but these are not as common as part-time staff positions. Ministry positions are also posted through the seminary online Ministry Board and to the Opportunities Board in the Academic hallway, as well as copied to notebooks located in the Student Services Office.
Campus Employment (NCC) All enrolled students have equal opportunity to apply for any seminary position open to student applicants. Part-time campus positions come available nearly every semester. Usually, these jobs can be found in the library, grounds crew, maintenance area, mailroom, Golden Gate Academy, safety services and varied administrative offices. GGBTS faculty often engage paid teaching assistants. Occasionally, full-time secretarial and office support positions are open to student or student spouse applicants. Contact the Director of Human Resources concerning available positions and applications. Currently, Golden Gate offers no intentional work-study program.
