Global Studies Partnership

Today’s Christian leaders face the challenge of living and working in complex intercultural environments. The Global Studies Partnership is an intensive, interdisciplinary, dual master’s degree program designed to equip students with the professional skills required for careers in international and intercultural settings.

Through the Global Studies Partnership, students pursue two master’s degrees simultaneously: a theological degree from Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary and a Master of Arts in Intercultural Studies (MAIS) degree from Union University.

The Global Studies Partnership (GSP) requires admission and active enrollment in both Golden Gate Seminary and Union University. GSP students can attend any of Golden Gate’s five regional campuses, but all MAIS courses must be completed at the Northern California campus over four weekends throughout each semester.

GSP students pursue one of three theological degrees from GGBTS:
Master of Divinity (83 hours)
Master of Missiology (49-51 hours)
Master of Theological Studies (49 hours)
Master of Arts in Educational Leadership (49 hours)

The curriculum for the MAIS degree is made up of two components: a 27-hour core curriculum offered through Union University and a 12-hour professional component track offered through Golden Gate Seminary. All courses are designed to integrate faith with practical skills for professional leadership.
